FAQ'S
Monday thru Friday 9:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
We are closed for lunch daily from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
If you would like to meet any of our dogs, we do request that you make an appointment so that we can schedule a private yard for you to with the dog(s). This helps by allowing the dog(s) to meet in a less loud and distracting environment.
Saturday and Sunday - Closed

Unfortunately, at this time Athens Animal Services does not offer low cost spay/neuter but below are resources that you can reach out to.
The SNYP Program helps members of the Athens City community who otherwise cannot afford to have their pets spayed or neutered. This low cost spay/neuter program is financed by the Athens City Council to help prevent pet overpopulation. Interested individuals must come into the Limestone Veterinary Clinic on Monday or Tuesday (between 10am-12pm), to complete the SNYP application, make copies of required documentation and set up an appointment.
To qualify for the SNYP program you must
Be 18 years of age, the owner of the pet and live in Athens City
Have proof of being on food stamps or possess an EBT card
Have a valid driver's license or picture ID
Provide official documentation with current address (utility bill, bank statement, phone bill, etc.)
Cash payment for surgery
**NOTE: Applicants can only spay/neuter 2 pet per year**
Please contact their receptionist at (256) 233-1515 to learn more.
